Pixel Screenshots and Studio currently not available for everyone

Google Pixel 9 AM AH 25

Earlier this month, Google launched the Pixel 9 series along with other products in several countries. The company’s latest phones pack a set of new AI-powered features and improvements. However, some key features, such as Pixel Screenshots and Pixel Studio, won’t be available at launch in all markets.

Not all Pixel 9 buyers can use Pixel Screenshots and Studio at launch

Currently, Pixel Screenshots and Studio, two of the best new AI features of the Pixel 9 series, are only available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Singapore, India, and Malaysia. That doesn’t mean they won’t ever arrive in more regions. It’s possible that the company will roll out both features more broadly in the future. However, there’s no word on Google’s plans in this regard.

Being products so focused on AI, the absence of these features may be annoying for those buyers in unsupported regions. Hopefully, it won’t take long for the Mountain View giant to push Pixel Screenshots and Studio to more users worldwide. In the meantime, you can still generate images with Gemini, although you can’t tweak them. But there is no native alternative feature for Pixel Screenshots.

What are Pixel Screenshots and Pixel Studio?

If you’ve heard of Windows Recall, then Pixel Screenshots will be familiar to you. Basically, it can pull data directly from your screenshots according to your needs. However, unlike Recall, it only works on the screenshots you take instead of constantly “recording” your activity in screenshots. Pixel Screenshots works entirely on-device, addressing security or privacy concerns from which Microsoft has defended itself.

On the other hand, Pixel Studio uses the power of generative AI to create editable images based on prompts. That is, it can generate an image that you can then tweak to get an output as close as possible to your original ideal. You will no longer need to generate a completely new image if you didn’t like the previous one because of some small detail.
