Several big tech companies often resort to interesting marketing methods to generate hype around a launch. A simple, seemingly out-of-place image can become a subject of study for tipsters and leakers. That’s exactly what’s happening right now with a Sam Altman’s post featuring a picture with strawberries.

If you check out Sam Altman’s X profile, you’ll notice that everything he posts is related to AI. This makes sense, considering we’re talking about the CEO of OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGPT. That’s why any post related to anything else raises suspicions about a possible hidden teaser. Currently, OpenAI is reportedly working on ChatGPT-5 (unconfirmed name).

That said, Sam Altman’s post on X shows a pot of strawberries and includes the phrase “I love summer in the garden.” While we could be looking at a simple post about fruit farming, there are clues that point to something bigger. If you’re not aware, the company’s next big AI model claim is said to use the codename “strawberry.”

According to reports, the next big ChatGPT update could arrive this year. So, the tech community is connecting the dots, interpreting Sam Altman’s picture with strawberries as a teaser for what’s to come. That said, it’s all speculation at the moment. However, if true, next-gen ChatGPT would be closer than we think.

OpenAI’s current most powerful AI model is ChatGPT-4o. It arrived this year as an “intermediate” step but still includes several notable performance improvements and new features. ChatGPT-4o got a boost in its multimodal capabilities for better text, image, and video understanding. It’s also faster and more efficient than its predecessor.

On the other hand, ChatGPT-5 may be much more autonomous, being able to perform actions beyond your request if it deems it necessary. For example, instead of just answering a question, I would also do follow-up research on it. Recently, LMSYS Org (a chatbot arena) got a mysterious chatbot claiming to be an improved version of GPT-4. This may be the first detection of an early version of the alleged ChatGPT-5.
