Satellite connectivity on mass-market mobile devices is relatively new. Currently, very few manufacturers support the feature, at least outside of China. In fact, on Android, only the Google Pixel 9 series is compatible. That said, as with the deep implementation of AI in mobile devices, Samsung would follow in Google’s footsteps by implementing satellite connectivity support on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Apple popularized satellite connectivity on “traditional” flagship phones with its iPhone 14 series. Until then, only specific niche products supported it. Since then, some Chinese brands have launched satellite-enabled smartphones in their home country. Samsung could take advantage of the “free spot” in the global market to offer a competitive advantage on the most premium model of the Galaxy S25 series.

China’s 3C certifies Galaxy S25 Ultra with satellite connectivity support

According to tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Ultra appeared on 3C certification body’s listings. The entry mentions that the device will offer both satellite connectivity and 45W fast charging. The confirmation of the charging power might disappoint many who are expecting better numbers after years of waiting. However, Samsung is one of the companies that follows a conservative line when it comes to charging support. Brands like Google, Apple, and Sony use a similar strategy.

So, the most notable thing about the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s entry in 3C is the mention of satellite connectivity. The tipster also reveals that the device will bring improved video recording capabilities. According to a recent leak, Samsung will implement a new 50 MP ISOCELL JN3 sensor for ultra-wide shots. The other three rear camera sensors would remain unchanged. The company will probably implement most of the camera improvements on the software side.

According to reports, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will weigh significantly less than the latest iPhone 16 Pro Max. Despite having a slightly larger screen (6.9″), the Galaxy S25 Ultra is reportedly significantly lighter than the S24 Ultra. Lastly, Samsung could reduce the device’s thickness to 8.2 mm.
