OnePlus is already rolling out the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 update for its eligible devices. As usual, the latest flagship phones are the first to get the update. The company has already sent the new firmware to the OnePlus 12 in multiple regions. Now, the company is shipping Android 15 to the OnePlus 12R.
The OnePlus 12R is a smartphone focused primarily on performance. The device boasts a robust set of specifications that enable it to run any app or game smoothly in high graphical settings. However, it is cheaper than the OnePlus 12, sacrificing in some aspects, such as the camera. In any case, if you are looking for raw power, this could be the best Android device available in its price range.
Indian OnePlus 12R users receiving Android 15
Now, according to reports on Reddit and other platforms, OnePlus 12R users are already receiving the stable Android 15 update along with all the new OxygenOS 15 features. Screenshots shared by users show that the OTA has the build number CPH2585_15.0.0.200 (EX01). This build number refers to the Indian model. So, folks in other regions, like the US and Europe, will have to wait a little longer.
OnePlus might be conducting a limited initial rollout in India as a test. The company hasn’t shared an official blog post announcing the availability of the update yet. In any case, the changelog is identical to that of the OnePlus 12. This includes a set of OnePlus AI features, refined animations, redesigned icons, optimized performance, and more.
In the OnePlus 12 changelog, the company pointed out something interesting. The official forum thread noted that OnePlus AI features “are still being tested and will be gradually integrated.” Therefore, many of these features will remain unavailable even after you install the OxygenOS 15 update on your device, whether it’s the OnePlus 12 or its less expensive sibling. Hopefully, the company won’t take long to start rolling out OxygenOS 15 stable for the OnePlus 12R in more regions.
