The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is now getting the December 2025 security update. The upgrade makes the three devices in the lineup more secure by fixing a total of 57 security issues. This comes after Samsung had already released the monthly update to its modern flagships like the Galaxy S25 and S24 series.

The Galaxy S23 series is receiving the December 2025 update

The December 2025 security update to the Galaxy S23 is currently only rolling out in Samsung’s home country, South Korea. But it should expand it to other regions very soon. The December upgrade reportedly carries the firmware versions S918NKSS6EYL1/S918NOKR6EYL1/S918NKSU6EYI7. You can check for the update from Settings > Software update > Download and install.

As said, the December 2025 security update fixes 57 vulnerabilities, including six critical ones, and the rest are rated high-risk, which affect the core Android OS. Besides Google’s fixes, Samsung has reportedly fixed 11 security flaws related to One UI.

The update fixes 57 vulnerabilities

While this is not a major update that brings any UI changes, it fixes some security loopholes. However, the Galaxy S23 series will soon get the One UI 8.5 update, but it may not be a part of the beta program. This, however, will bring major improvements to the UI, Galaxy AI features, and more.

Currently, the One UI 8.5 beta program is only open to the Galaxy S25 series. It might soon kick off to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 foldables. The stable One UI 8.5 will debut on the Galaxy S26 series early next year.
