ASUS has quietly launched two new gaming monitors today as part of its ROG Strix lineup, including the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS, and the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMES. Both monitors come equipped with a fast refresh rate of up to 280Hz and QHD resolution all wrapped up in a 26.5-inch panel. Both monitors are available from today, and might just be the perfect solution to anyone looking at gaming monitor upgrades without spending over $1,000 on one.
While these won’t come with 4K panels or have refresh rates that push the limits, and they aren’t massive in size, they’ll fit snugly in just about any setup thanks to their more reasonably-sized displays, and they offer a lot of other gaming features that are nice to have. For instance, the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS monitor comes with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. That’s quite bright and it ensures you likely aren’t going to have much of an issue, if any, with glare.
The ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS retails for $699.99
A price of $699.99 is far from the cheapest monitor you could find, but for what you’re getting it ain’t bad. In addition to the high refresh rate, high peak brightness, and USB Type-C 15W power delivery port, each monitor offers true 10-bit color displays. You might remember the 10-bit display reference from Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy S26 series of phones, as there was some miscommunication prior to their launch that 10-bit displays were present. Only, they weren’t, and they offer 8-bit displays instead.
While this won’t matter to everyone, the 10-bit display can be a big deal because it delivers vastly more color depth. And if color depth and color accuracy matter to you, then you’ll be pleased to know that each of these new monitors will offer it.
They also come with ROG OLED Anti-Flicker technology to reduce flicker during any fluctuations in the refresh rate, resulting in a smoother gameplay visual experience. The ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS retails for $699.99, or you can go with the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMES for $599.99.
The main difference between the two is that the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMES doesn’t come with the USB Type-C port, and its peak brightness is a lower 400 nits. Both monitors can be picked up from ASUS directly, but it may also be possible to grab these from Amazon soon.
