Vivo seems to be actively working on its next flagship series, presumably called the X500 series. For a while now, we’ve been coming across multiple leaks, cluing us in on what might be on offer later this year when they debut. Like always, there will be multiple models in the series, including a new Vivo X500 Pro Max. For today, though, we’ll be talking about the vanilla Vivo X500, whose key specs like display, camera, and battery have surfaced online.
Vivo X500 leak reveals key specs like display and camera before launch
The latest piece of information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who details key specs like chipset, display, battery, and cameras. While he doesn’t explicitly mention the phone’s name, it does sound like he’s talking about the Vivo X500 here. According to him, the current engineering model of the phone sports a 6.59-inch mid-size display, possibly with flat edges. This does align with earlier reports.
Perhaps the most important detail that the tipster has revealed is that it’ll feature 3nm DX5, the Dimensity 9500, rather than the upcoming Dimensity 9600. He adds that it’ll be slightly upgraded. It does seem intentional, possibly to make the standard Vivo X500 an affordable option in the lineup. Meanwhile, the X500 Pro and Pro Max could use the upcoming 2nm Dimensity 9600. It’s also a more practical move considering the rising component cost.

No MediaTek Dimensity 9600 power
In terms of cameras, the engineering prototype features a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and a mid-sensor periscope telephoto lens. The tipster adds that this could be the same 64MP periscope unit that’s in testing for the X500 Pro. However, it’s still not confirmed. Lastly, the Vivo X500 may house a 7,500mAh battery, which is quite large for a phone of this size. Again, this fits earlier reports that suggested the Vivo X500 series would pack 7,000mAh+ batteries.
Considering what we know so far, it seems like Vivo is building a multi-tier lineup with the X500 series. At the top, it could be the Vivo X500 Pro Max, in the middle is the Vivo X500 Pro, and at the bottom, the standard X500. We also have the premium Vivo X500 Ultra. We’ll know how much of this is true as we move closer to the launch.
