Crucial has a deal right now on its 4TB P3 Plus NVMe SSD where you can pick the drive up for under $207. Normally the drive retails for $227.98, but Crucial currently has it listed on Amazon for $206.54. It’s not a major savings but it is a discount of nearly $22 ($21.44 to be exact). And any discount on a useful product is a good discount.
The Crucial P3 Plus is a Gen4 NVMe SSD with sequential read speeds up to 5,000MB/s, and sequential write speeds up to 4,200MB/s. And with 4TB of space you shouldn’t have to worry about running out of space for stuff anytime soon. As a Gen4 drive Crucial says it performs faster than the fastest Gen3 drives. So if you’re still running a Gen3 drive, this is a great reason to upgrade. In addition to the discount of course.
With the performance this SSD provides it’s perfectly suitable for gaming as well as content creation, and any other work you may need to do with it. Worth noting is that this drive doesn’t come with its own heatsink. So if you want to use one with it you’ll need to get that separately. And if you’re planning to use it for game storage it might not be a bad idea to have a heatsink. Though it isn’t necessarily required.
Due to the read and write speeds this isn’t a suitable SSD for the PS5 as it doesn’t meet Sony’s requirements. It will work perfectly for desktop and laptop PC’s though. And this drive is backwards compatible with Gen3 hardware. So you should be able to use it even if you haven’t updated your motherboard to get all the Gen4 features.
