Philips Hue launched the new Play HDMI sync box 8X at IFA
Sometimes, you want to add a little extra to your viewing experience. This is where devices like the new Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box 8K come in. This is a central hub that can control up to 10 compatible Philips Hue color-capable lights. You’ll plug your media device into the box, like a gaming console or streaming stick. Then, all of the connected lights will match the color of what’s on the screen. Your lights will match the mood of what’s on the screen.
What’s neat is that it’s very responsive, so the lights will change quickly to match the colors. It can sync with 8K video at 60Hz and 4K video at 120Hz. So, either way you slice it, you’re getting a smooth and immersive experience. This sync box uses the HDMI 2.1 standard.
While the media you’re watching will dictate the lights, you’re still in control. You can use the Hue app to adjust the brightness and intensity of the lights.
