The standard Razr comes in at $699, which makes it a great grab for people wanting to break into the foldable phone market. Well, according to a new report, the Motorola Razr 50s could be an even cheaper foldable phone.
Foldable phones have faced two major issues. One is durability, and the other one is price. Book-style foldables are struggling to dip below $1,500 in most cases, but companies have been able to shave some off the price of clamshell foldable phones significantly. The first Razr foldable launched in 2020 at an eye-watering $1,499. So, it’s clear that the tech world has come a long way in reducing the price of foldable phones.
The Motorola Razr 50s could be an even more affordable foldable
The crown for the cheapest foldable goes to the Nubia Flip 5G, coming in at $499. That phone really made waves when it launched. The standard Razr isn’t far off from it at $200 more. With it, you’re getting a bigger display and a more refined experience.
This time around, it’s a more compelling offer because it more closely resembles the “+” variant. The thing is that Motorola might have another phone in the chamber. Thanks to My Smart Price, it looks like the company is working on releasing the Motorola Razr 50s. This phone was spotted on the HDR10+ certification website.
When it comes to information regarding this phone… this well is bone dry. The only bit of information we can glean from this is that the display will support HDR10+. As for the specs, dimensions, market, and more importantly, price, we’re left in the dark.
Folks in the United States who are excited about this phone may need to hold their horses. This phone uses the global naming scheme for the company’s Razr phones. Across the seas, this year’s phones are called the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra. The Razr 50s might be a global model only. However, if Motorola does bring this stateside, then who knows if the company will simply call it the Razr S?
