According to a new report, Samsung could announce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in London. The information comes from the Korea Economic TV reporter, Kim Dae-yeon.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 launch event location surfaces, along with a date
He said that the company will host the next Galaxy Unpacked event in London, UK, on July 22, 2026. Both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are expected to be announced, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold Wide, or whatever name Samsung ends up going with.
The July launch timeframe certainly fits, as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 were announced in July last year. We’re not sure if this date is accurate, though, so take it with a grain of salt, but it may as well be.
Having said that, we’ve recently shown you designs of both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its wider alternative, exclusively. The designs were shown via CAD-based renders. The wider Fold 8 model will arrive to compete directly with the first foldable iPhone.
The wider version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be in special focus during the event
That device is said to have a near-4:3 display aspect ratio when unfolded. It will be great for watching videos and running apps side by side, as you’ll get a landscape view on the inner display. The phone will be notably shorter than the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
That phone is also expected to be a high-end offering from the company. So, the second Galaxy Unpacked event will bring us three high-end foldables. Other announcements are also possible, though, of course.
Apple, on the other hand, is aiming to announce its first foldable iPhone in September this year, according to reports. Its name could be the iPhone Ultra, and it will launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
