The Google Nest Hub is great for displaying the time and doing a whole bunch of other cool smart home stuff, and like any other smart device, it can end up with the occasional bug. This is nothing new and at this stage it’s almost expected. A new device comes out, there are bound to be bugs. That being said, it’s never fun when a bug does pop up that makes things a little less convenient.
For instance, this current Nest Hub bug that is causing it to have trouble telling what time it is. Just imagine a world where you set an alarm to go get lunch at noon the following day but instead the Nest Hub alarm goes at midnight and wakes you up. Doesn’t sound fun, does it? Unfortunately for some, specifically those who use the Nest Hub, this is an actual bug that has popped up. The good news is that Google does know about it.
The Nest Hub time bug is getting a fix, and it might not be far off
While this can certainly be an understandably annoying bug, a fix is coming. As noted by Android Authority, Google is aware of the bug. More than that, though, Google has already identified a fix for the bug and is actively working on it. Google confirmed this in a response on a different Reddit post and has stated that it will let people know when the fix is being rolled out.
While we don’t necessarily expect it to be pushed out later today or even this weekend, it probably isn’t too far off. It’s also worth noting that this doesn’t seem to be a very widespread issue. On top of that, it might not be impacting users of the original Nest Hub. It could be limited to those on the second generation of the device. If you’re experiencing this issue with your own Nest Hub, you might want to use your phone for an alarm for the time being.
