Valve’s Steam Machine is still months away but if you’re looking for an alternative that can still play games and even fits into a similar size package, then you might want to take a look at the Hilbert Agentic Computer. It’s a small form factor PC that’s cube-shaped, not unlike the Steam Machine, and that makes it a viable option for a couch gaming setup should you be looking to get one of those up and running.
That being said, there are some very distinct details about this PC that you’ll want to keep in mind. First, is the fact that it’s a Kickstarter campaign at the moment. That means it won’t be available for the time being. The good thing is that it has already reached its funding goal. By a massive amount no less. Of the initial $31,914 goal, the Hilbert Agentic Computer has been funded with $243,610. So it’s well beyond the funding goal. That being said, it will still be a while before units are completed and shipped. Thankfully for those who have backed, not too long.
The Hilbert Agentic Computer is expected to ship in June of 2026
Valve hasn’t yet announced when the Steam Machine launches, so it could be sometime this Summer, or it could be much later. The Hilbert Agentic Computer, however, is expected to begin shipping to backers in June. So it’s not far off. That being said, the Steam Machine is almost certainly going to cost a lot less money. The price is yet another thing that Valve hasn’t confirmed. The only detail about the price that Valve has confirmed is that it had to revisit what it was going to consider for pricing due to the RAM shortage.
The Hilbert Agentic Computer will most likely cost more. So, that should be considered if you’re looking to get a small PC like this for gaming. Based on the Kickstarter backing options, the least expensive package is $2,999. That is nowhere near affordable. That also makes sense, given the current market conditions for PC components. Not to mention the fact that this PC is technically designed with the intention of being used for AI model acceleration.
Still, if you’re someone who can afford the cost, this little PC is packed with powerful specs. It has up to 128GB of RAM, and it’s running on an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 365 with up to 96GB of VRAM. Yeah, that’s definitely enough for some couch gaming.
