Samsung just announced the Galaxy A57 and A37 mid-range phones. These are the latest additions to its quite popular A-series. They succeed the last year’s Galaxy A56 and A36 models and share nearly identical designs. That’s on the outside, but what about the internal? Well, a new Galaxy A57 teardown video reveals just that.
Galaxy A57’s teardown shows off the complete internal structure
The teardown video, published by PBKreviews, starts as usual by removing the SIM tray, which shows a grey rubber gasket around the opening to protect it from water and dust. The teardown then proceeds to heat up the glass back to loosen the adhesive and then uses a pry tool to pry the back plate off. The main internals are held in by 18 Phillips screws.
The video removes the motherboard cover, which has NFC antenna lines. There’s also a graphite film for thermal management. On the other side of the cover, there is an earpiece speaker with a red rubber gasket around it.
Bigger vapor chamber
Removing a few more screws and connector cables gives access to the mainboard. This houses the triple camera sensors, an LED flash, and a secondary microphone on one end. The camera connectors can apparently be disconnected by just popping them off. On the back side of the mainboard, there are the proximity and ambient sensors as well as the graphite or thermal pad to help transfer heat. Peeling that off reveals the processor, the Exynos 1680.
The teardown then shows the subboard with components like the primary microphone, a grey rubber gasket around the charging port, and the SIM card reader. An adhesive pouch holds the Galaxy A57’s 5,000mAh battery in place. What this also means is that battery replacements will be easier.
Hiding below that is the phone’s vapor chamber, which is apparently bigger than the one on the Galaxy A56. This should help keep thermals in check. In the end, PBKReview gives Galaxy A57 a 9/10 repairability score.
